Training & Facility Manager, Siv Janne Aarrestad, spoke to LARA about how Aero Norway is addressing the MRO skills shortage by engaging the local community.

Siv Janne Aarrestad, HR, HSE, Training & Facility Manager, shared how Aero Norway is cultivating the next generation of engine technicians in the December issue of LARA Magazine.

Speaking to Rob Munro, she highlights that the Company is deeply embedding its recruitment and training strategy within the local community. Aero Norway partner with local secondary schools and offer apprenticeship schemes to deliver hands-on experience to students and foster interest in long-term careers. By providing world-class career opportunities locally, Aero Norway actively supports the local economy as a local employer with global reach.

“Through the schools’ engagement programme, we are highlighting that young people can follow their dreams in the global aviation sector from our base here in Stavanger,” explains Aarrestad.
